A maternity photoshoot on the Sunshine Coast

Although the days seem to tick over slowly during pregnancy & while waiting for your baby to arrive, it is really not that long till your baby is in your arms and your bump is starting to disappear. Pregnancy can be tiring, and you don’t always feel your best, but looking back it is so special to have images of the time that you & your baby are still ‘one’.

My styled Sunshine Coast pregnancy photoshoots are all about making you feel radiant and capturing that pregnancy ‘glow’. Depending on the size of your bump the session can take place anywhere from about 20 weeks up until about 38 weeks. After 38 weeks it can be a bit too exhausting to stand for a photoshoot. You can also miss risking the opportunity if you leave a photoshoot to the last two weeks!

Maternity photoshoot outline

Based in Noosa, there are so many beautiful location options for maternity photography. I like to start the session with some photos taken among the beautiful bush areas the Sunshine Coast has to offer. I usually finish the shoot at a coastal / beach location for sunset. Before our session I will do a location scout to find what area I think will be most suitable – my aim is to be the best Noosa maternity photographer & for that I need to know the best locations!

At the start of the maternity photoshoot you will have your hair & makeup done, which takes about 1 hour. Hair can be changed halfway through the photoshoot so you can get a mix of up-style/ down-style images. During this time I will show you the dress options. Usually I will ask a client to choose two dresses from my collection for a shoot. If you prefer you can bring your own dresses. As a Noosa maternity photographer, I have a large collection of maternity dresses for my clients to choose from. Don’t forget to bring some nice jewellery if thats something you’d like to wear!

Once you are ready we head to the location. I aim to be at the location around 90mins before the shoot so we have plenty of time before the sun sets. Halfway through the shoot you can change into the second dress, ready for the sunset shoot. There is time during the shoot to have a rest and sit down as needed as I know its quite exhausting standing especially late in pregnancy.

What happens after the Noosa maternity photoshoot ?

Once the photoshoot is finished, its a great idea to head out for dinner with your partner if you can! After all you will look stunning with your hair and makeup perfectly done 🙂 Maternity photoshoots should be fun & enjoyable, so why not finish off your day on a high note.

Your beautiful pregnancy photos will be edited & ready for viewing within 4 weeks. If you would like to look at some examples of my pregnancy photography please check out my maternity gallery

Remember to book your Noosa pregnancy photoshoot around 3 months in advance to ensure availability!
