Wall art & albums
The most important purchase from your photoshoot is the final printed products. Its disappointing putting your time, effort and money into a photoshoot if the final images end up in a USB drive in a draw never to be seen again. This is why I always encourage my clients to invest in high quality wall art or albums.
I source my products from a number of different vendors, according to what they specialise in. Most of them do not supply to the public, they only work with artists. As these are high end products, they need to be sure the files they are provided have been optimised for print. You are welcome to print your images with any vendor, and your digital files are print ready. However I can not guarantee colours or display accuracy with a printer I haven't worked with before or the quality of other labs.
File OPTIMISATION FOR PRINT
What we see on a screen is different to a final image in print due to the nature of how the images are displayed. Since images on a monitor are displayed using light the same image on a canvas or on archival paper will look darker. Colours monitor to monitor can also vary widely. These are just a couple of reason I optimsize images for high end printing
Factors taken into account for high end printing:
* Colour profile of the image
* Colour calibration of the monitor vs printers final products
* size of image to be printed ( dpi )
* Sharpening ( printed images must be sharpened more than digital images )
* Stock ( paper types, metals, canvas etc )
